“Darkness at the break of noon
Shadows even the silver spoon
The handmade blade, the child’s balloon
Eclipses both the sun and moon
To understand you know too soon
There is no sense in trying.”
– Bob Dylan
When Bob Dylan said that, I understood what he meant right away. Perspective determines perception.
2015 was the most amazing year in my life since my son was born in 1992. I left a great job I hated, I continued to get work in films, I wrote and directed a short piece, starred in two shorts and became part of a team of filmmakers with a solid concept we will flex in 2016.
I worked with one of my lifelong screen idols and had the opportunity to work with one of the most promising young directors to hit the scene in a very long time. I have two more roles in the next month and another of my own projects launching in the next couple of months.
I started a web/video/to-become-print horse rescue advocate magazine and have built a support community of over 14,000 fans/supporters for hundreds of listed rescues to be further advertised, increasing adoption opportunity for rescue horses. It is an ugly problem a bunch of beautiful people and myself are trying to eliminate, it is a battle.
Film is still very busy for me and now I have found a fantastic day job working as an R&D Machinist for a company owned by a guy who is enamored of my film work and is totally flexible to my occasional film projects requiring time away from the 9-5.
I am looking forward to 2016 being another great year full of opportunities and great new people!
